Northstar Playmakers
Parent Group (NPPG)
Northstar Playmakers Parent Group's objectives are to:
-
Support theater and dramatic arts education through productions and programs at Westhill High School;
-
Bring together the home and school so that Westhill students continue to have educational opportunities to participate in theater and dramatic arts;
-
Oversee, manage, and raise funds for Northstar’s annual spring musical and other productions; and
-
Provide volunteer support for Northstar productions.
NPPG consists of dedicated parent volunteers who support all aspects of Westhill High School's after-school theater programs. NPPG is proud of the dedication shown by our parents who support their children's passions for the performing arts, whether their children are performers, part of the tech crew, or musicians. All parents are automatically eligible to be members of NPPG. We meet 5-6 times each year. If you are not on our mailing list and would like to be, email us at northstarppg@gmail.com or enter your information here.

In addition to producing the annual spring musical, much of what NPPG does involves fundraising to supplement the allocation from the Stamford Public Schools, which only covers a small portion of what the productions cost. Westhill High School has a long history of producing outstanding theatrical productions and provides low-cost, live performances to the community at large. In addition, the NPPG helps provide workshops for students and has facilitated in helping students attend professional theater performances in the area. Over the years, our well-regarded theater program and talented students have earned numerous awards from the Connecticut High School Musical Theatre Awards and by the CT Drama Association. Many Northstar Playmakers & Tech crew graduates have gone on to pursue performing and technical theater in college and beyond.
